“Metal That Comes to Life”: How Bila Tserkva Industrial Park Supports Youth Career Orientation

On December 12, the career guidance event “Metal That Comes to Life” took place at the Bila Tserkva City Council. The initiative was launched by Bila Tserkva Industrial Park in cooperation with the city authorities and the Department of Education and Science of the Bila Tserkva City Council.

The event became part of the Industrial Park’s long-term strategy aimed at developing the city’s workforce potential and promoting modern technical and blue-collar professions among young people.

Career Guidance as an Investment in the City’s Economy

Today’s labor market requires specialists who combine practical skills, technological thinking, and creativity. That is why the main goal of the event was to show school students that modern working professions offer real career opportunities, stability, and professional growth.

At the beginning of the event, Yuliia Orel, Head of the Economic Development Department of the Bila Tserkva City Council, addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of developing professional competencies among young people as a foundation for sustainable economic growth.

A Real-Life Example of a Modern Profession

A key highlight of the event was the meeting with Bila Tserkva-based sculptor Maksym Vasylenko, whose works shape the city’s public spaces and are well known beyond the region.

In his daily work, he uses a wide range of technical skills, including manual and laser metal cutting, welding, soldering, bending, and working with wire and other materials. During the session, students witnessed how these skills are applied in practice — a piece of art was created from simple wire right before their eyes.

This live interaction helped students better understand the value of technical professions and their real-world applications.
